At NS4ed, as the Wraparound Services Coordinator, Emma Nelson is a contributing member of Professional Development. Emma is focused on working collaboratively with district and school administrators to support students, families, and local communities to increase student success before and after graduation. Her work is centered around the Early College High School (ECHS) designation criteria and is student-centered. She identifies barriers through the lens of the individual student experience.
Emma graduated from Berea College with a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Family Studies and a minor in Women and Gender Studies. She was a collegiate athlete for Berea College Women’s Tennis.
Emma studied abroad in Galway, Ireland. There she volunteered for an afterschool program in Ballybane that provided support and educational activities such as cooking lessons and crafts for primary school students. She also worked as a paraprofessional for students with diverse needs who attended Prenda, a tuition-free micro-school.
